Peer Review Policy

OBOR: Oikonomia Borneo applies a peer-review process to ensure that all published articles meet appropriate standards of academic quality, originality, relevance, and research integrity. The review process is conducted objectively, independently, and confidentially, with consideration given to the scholarly content and contribution of each manuscript.

1. Initial Editorial Screening

All submitted manuscripts are initially screened by the editor to assess their suitability for the journal's focus and scope, completeness of submission requirements, compliance with author guidelines, and potential publication ethics concerns. Manuscripts that fall outside the journal's scope or fail to meet basic requirements may be rejected before peer review.

2. Peer Review Process

Manuscripts that pass the initial screening are sent to at least two reviewers with expertise relevant to the subject matter. Reviewers assess the methodological quality, analytical rigor, clarity of presentation, relevance of references, originality, and scholarly contribution of the manuscript.

OBOR: Oikonomia Borneo employs a double-blind peer-review system, in which the identities of authors and reviewers are concealed from each other throughout the review process.

3. Reviewer Recommendations

Reviewers provide one of the following recommendations to the editor:

  • Accept;

  • Minor revision;

  • Major revision; or

  • Reject.

Reviewer recommendations inform the editorial decision but do not automatically determine the final outcome.

4. Manuscript Revision

Authors are required to respond systematically to reviewer comments and revise their manuscripts accordingly. Revised manuscripts may be returned to reviewers for further assessment. The editor may request additional revisions or reject a manuscript if the revisions do not meet the journal's standards.

5. Editorial Decision

The final decision to accept or reject a manuscript rests with the editor, based on reviewer reports, the quality of revisions, compliance with journal policies, and other relevant academic considerations. Editorial decisions are made independently, fairly, and free from conflicts of interest.

6. Confidentiality and Review Ethics

Reviewers must maintain manuscript confidentiality, refrain from using information obtained during the review process for personal benefit, provide objective and constructive assessments, and disclose any potential conflicts of interest. Manuscripts under review must not be shared or used without appropriate authorization.

OBOR: Oikonomia Borneo is committed to conducting its peer-review process transparently, professionally, and responsibly to maintain the quality and integrity of scholarly publishing.
