Allegations of Research Misconduct
OBOR: Oikonomia Borneo is committed to maintaining research integrity and publication ethics. The journal takes all allegations of research misconduct seriously and handles them objectively, fairly, and confidentially, while ensuring due process for all parties involved.
Research misconduct includes, but is not limited to, data fabrication, data falsification, plagiarism, duplicate publication, citation manipulation, inappropriate authorship, and violations of research ethics approval requirements or participants' rights.
Anyone with credible evidence or reasonable grounds to suspect research misconduct may submit a written complaint to the journal editor, together with relevant information and supporting evidence.
The editor will conduct a preliminary assessment to evaluate the credibility and relevance of the allegation. Where necessary, the editor may request clarification from the authors, reviewers, or other relevant parties. All procedures will be conducted independently and impartially, with appropriate confidentiality safeguards.
If further investigation is required, the editor may consult the author's affiliated institution, research ethics committee, or other relevant authorities. The individual or individuals concerned will be given a reasonable opportunity to respond before a decision is made.
Depending on the findings, the journal may take appropriate action, including requesting manuscript corrections, rejecting a submission, publishing a correction or an expression of concern, or retracting a published article when warranted.
OBOR: Oikonomia Borneo ensures that all allegations are handled professionally and based on the available evidence. Unsubstantiated allegations will not be treated as proven misconduct. The journal also does not tolerate complaints knowingly submitted in bad faith to harm other parties.
