Plagiarism Policy

OBOR: Oikonomia Borneo is committed to maintaining academic integrity and publication ethics. All submitted manuscripts are screened using similarity-checking software to identify potential plagiarism and similarities with previously published works.

Submitted manuscripts must be original works, must not have been previously published, and must not be under consideration by another journal. Authors are required to cite all sources appropriately and obtain the necessary permissions for the use of third-party materials.

OBOR: Oikonomia Borneo sets a similarity index of less than 20% as the acceptable threshold. Manuscripts with a similarity index of 20% or higher may be returned to the authors for revision or rejected, depending on the findings of the assessment and the editor's judgment.

The similarity index alone does not determine whether plagiarism has occurred. Editors assess the sources and context of the similarities, including direct quotations, references, common terminology, and text overlapping with other publications.

If plagiarism, duplicate publication, or other violations of academic ethics are identified, the journal reserves the right to request clarification, return the manuscript for revision, or reject it depending on the severity of the violation. The final decision rests with the editor based on the assessment findings and the journal's publication ethics policies.
